How rare is a 2009 HP2 Sport?
Our bike is #69 of 75 total 2009 BMW HP2 Sports imported into the US and there are very few available today. A little perspective, approximately 1.2M motorcycles were sold in the US in 2009. HD sold 225K bikes and BMW sold 11K bikes. BMW's total was .9% of total bikes sold so every bike BMW sells is a limited edition. The R1200 HP2 Sport however is the rarest of the rare making up only .00625% of the entire motorcycle market in the US. Introducing the new DOHC Boxer engine configuration for the 2010 R 1200 GS,
R 1200 GS Adventure and the R 1200 RT!
The new DOHC cylinder heads are designed and built for even higher engine speeds. They are not only more powerful than the previous generation but they are more efficient too. This new Boxer engine, like the engine featured on the race-proven BMW HP2 Sport, is equipped with two overhead chain-driven camshafts (DOHC) per cylinder. Radial arrangement of the four valves allows for a very compact combustion chamber configuration, and like that of the previous generation, the fuel/air mixture is ignited by two spark plugs. Valves are operated by very light rocker arms able to cope easily with higher engine speeds.

Military Motorcycle Purchase Program

In appreciation for the commitment and sacrifice of our men and women serving in the US armed forces, BMW Motorrad USA is pleased to announce a special motorcycle purchase program for all active members of the US armed forces, to enable them to purchase the BMW motorcycle of their choice for personal use.
Active members include active duty (including activated Reservists) of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard, and those who have recently finished active service (within 6 months) with a current military identification card. A copy of Department of Defense form 214 may be necessary for retired service members and those who have recently been discharged from active service. If you have questions regarding eligibility, contact your local BMW Motorrad Dealer.

The following documents are required to redeem your allowance:
1. Proof of employment (copy of agency ID)
