Bob's 2010 Garage Tour, Ride and Eat Events
August 22 • September 12

Bob is a lucky man. He has a few good friends who share his passion for collecting special motorcycles, desirable automobiles, memorabilia and other related artifacts that celebrate combustion engine powered dreams. For years Bob and his friends have enjoyed sharing these hidden collections with each other, but rarely have these "miniature museums" been opened up to a larger family of vehicle enthusiasts. Well, that’s about to change. Bob has arranged FOUR exciting motorcycle rides, each with one of these fascinating Garage Tours as its destination. Yes, for a very limited time, YOU can be among a small number of exclusive insiders allowed to peer into these normally very private collections. To read more, click HERE!

JUST ANNOUNCED!

ADVENTURE IN SIBERIA

AUG 22 - SEP 01, 2010

Siberia, what a huge landmass. What an enormous variety of cultures, languages, landscapes and opportunities to experience the extraordinary. For our Adventure Siberia tour we picked the Altai Mountains region that extends into Mongolia, China and Kazakhstan and, of course, Russia. This area is the most attractive for enjoying mountain vistas, cruising along serene mountain lakes, chasing bears, fishing in raging rivers, taking a bath in some of the cleanest waters on our planet and for seeing and feeling how Russians, Kazakhs and the Altay people are so vastly different while living alongside each other. The route on this tour runs on tarmac as well as natural surface roads, steep gravel mountain passes and some river crossings that require a good sense of balance and a steady right hand on the gas. Of all the Edelweiss Adventure tours worldwide, this is the most difficult one for off-road riding! But also the most rewarding for people who like a challenge!

The “Golden Mountains” cited by Unesco peak at Mt. Belukha at over 14000 feet. It’s great riding here on hardtop and dirt roads along winding rivers. On the ferry on Lake Teletskoe you’ll feel like you’re in Norway or British Columbia. The real off-road fun starts at the southern tip of the lake. It’s incredible to ride up to the mountain pastures on small roads, single-track paths and through green fields of moss with no one around but a few horses, some sheep and cows. The number of unforgettable moments riding here on enduro bikes is beyond counting.

The overnights in resorts, jurtas, Ails, camping and some hotels are memorable. If you’re an off-roader and looking for something extremely different, in an unknown area, with new surprises everyday, this is your tour!

HIGHWAY NUMBER 1
Cruise along the Pacific Coast and discover some of America's best roads.

TOUR DATES
JUL 11 - 23, 2010 from Los Angeles to Seattle or
AUG 22 - SEP 3, 2010 from Seattle to Los Angeles

The Pacific Coast Highway on the American West Coast is considered to be one of the most beautiful roads in the world. For a good reason: the picturesque beauty of the landscape, the unbelievable mixture of colors and the interesting cities – quite often with Spanish heritage – make this road absolutely unique.

Add some twisties and hills and you have a dream road that makes for a great motorcycle vacation! You will get to know three states – California, Oregon and Washington State, which have a lot in common, but at the same time are also very different – you’ll see why.

The tour starts in Southern California, where – according to the song – it never rains. The landscape is correspondingly dry, almost desertlike, but fortunately we have the blue Pacific on the left and the green coastal mountains on the right. The stretch to San Francisco has enough highlights for a whole week: the Pismo Sand Dunes, Santa Barbara, Hearst Castle, Carmel, Cannery Row in Monterey… As a bonus, there are sea elephants, seals and pelicans to be seen along the way. Further north, the trees become a lot taller, you have entered the region of the famous redwoods. Crossing through Oregon, you finally reach Washington State.

The temperatures are quite a bit cooler than in Southern California, and the vegetation has also changed. What remains the same are the little motorcycle roads with their turns and vistas that make it very hard to go home.

TOUR ROUTE
CALIFORNIA | OREGON | WASHINGTON STATE
Day 1 Arrival in Los Angeles
Day 2 Los Angeles - Pismo Beach
Day 3 Pismo Beach - Carmel
Day 4 Carmel - San Francisco
Day 5 Rest day San Francisco
Day 6 San Francisco - Mendocino

Ride for Kids – Sunday, September 26th
Help Raise Money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

Bob's BMW, as you probably know, has had a long standing commitment to the Ride for Kids®. This year we are once again asking our customers to support this wonderful charity event and we're hoping to set a new record.

In 2009 the event brought in over $200,000 and together with our customers and all other participants we want to beat that! Over $120,000 has been turned in for the Baltimore-Washington Ride ride so far, a good chunk coming from Bob's BMW!

The Ride itself is always lots of fun, winding through some of the most scenic countryside in Howard, Anne Arundel, and Baltimore Counties. It's a great 50 mile ride almost totally on scenic back roads this year thanks to a new starting and end point at Turf Valley in Ellicott City, our new event host! And here's an added feature for you early birds... a Ride To The Ride. The ride leaves from Bob's parking lot promptly at 7:00 AM for Turf Valley's registration site. The registrations site offers FREE coffee, tea, juices or water and plenty of fresh donuts while you register and check out all of the bikes. When the ride returns to Turf Valley everyone registered gets a great box lunch courtesy of Whole Foods! And if you raise $300 or more, participants get a chance to win a brand new Honda motorcycle plus lots of other great premiums that start at the $50 level.

The Ride for Kids is such a great opportunity for motorcyclists to do something positive for the community! Funds raised at this event support the mission of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, which is to find the cause and cure of childhood brain tumors through increased public awareness and the support of medical research. With the recent achievements in cancer research, a victory in the fight against cancer is on the horizon, however, funding is now more critical than ever.

Remember, when you contribute your time and energy to this worthy cause, you also do wonders to enhance the image of all motorcycle riders. Media coverage of this high-profile event portrays us in a very favorable light - and good PR is always welcomed.

Get involved—it's easy! Get your Ride for Kids Registration Kit at www.rideforkids.org or call 1-800-253-6530. You can also pick one up at Bob's. And if you'd like to do even more, we need volunteers to assist with parking, registration and traffic control for the upcoming Ride for Kids here in Eliicott City, MD, Sunday - September 26th.

If you can't join us make a donation through Bob's BMW that is 100% tax deductible, click HERE to donate.
